One of my recent renters sent me her vacation week's itinerary and I thought I would share it with you as I think her travels allowed her to experience much of what makes the Cape such a special place.
" Where do I begin? Our week was perfect. Dave and I both desperately needed a week like we had on the Cape. The weather was exceptional and the lack of crowds made it so much easier to do and see all that we wanted.
Having never been to Cape Cod before I relied on TripAdvisor, the Cape Cod book by Kim Grant, the internet and your website and Facebook to map out our week. We arrived late on Saturday and had a delicious dinner at Paradise Pizza. On Sunday we rode the Cape Cod Rail Trail (rented our bikes at Dennis Cycle Center) to Orleans and back on Sunday. That was a bit adventurous on our part! (I had planned to bike a few more times later in the week but our rear ends told us otherwise!) We stopped at Cobies for a great lunch. We ate at O'Sheas for dinner and enjoyed the food and music. Our day ended at Corporation for a lovely sunset. AND I found a piece of sea glass!
Art's Dunes Tours in Provincetown was worth every penny. We stopped at the Coast Guard Beach twice on the way back to Summer Pines Cottage. We saw Highland Light and Nauset Light and enjoyed a long walk on the beach at Nauset Light.Dinner was at Jake Rooney's and the meal was once again very good.
Tuesday we watched kite boarders at West Dennis and walked the trail at town hall. It turned into a rainy day so we went shopping and ate at DiParma Italian Table and once again were happy with our selection.
Wednesday began with a fabulous breakfast at Good Friend's where Dave had the oreo cookie bread french toast. Can you say calories!!? We drove to Falmouth/Woods Hole to see Spohr Gardens. Wow. It is impressive and I only wish I was there when more things were blooming. The Nobska Light House and the Knob were both beautiful spots and we enjoyed the spectacular scenery and weather. We had lunch at Kream and Kone and saw a Cape Cod Baseball game at YD High School. What a nice evening. It ended with a phenomenal sunset at Mayflower.
Thursday we headed to Orleans and Chatham. We hung out at the beach at Nauset for a few hours and enjoyed the solitude and seals. We ate lunch at Nauset Grill in Orleans before heading to Chatham Light. It was another terrific experience at an ever-changing beach. Dinner was at Paradise Pizza again!
Our last day was spent in Dennis. We had a nice breakfast at Breakfast Room and went to Mayflower for low tide. WOW! That was impressive. The sand bars made it possible to walk so far out into the bay and we even found sand dollars! We made it to Scargo Tower for a great view and decided at the last minute to go to another baseball game. We had a late dinner at Chapin's just down the road.
Summer Pines Cottage was perfect for us during our stay. It was a great experience to stay in a lovely Cape cottage. Thank you so much for providing all the amenities you do. As you state on your website, you really only need a few changes of clothing and everything else is there for you."
